His first experimental short film, Farewell (1988) received many awards and was chosen by the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival (France), in 2004, as one of the most outstanding Brazilian short films ever.

Céu is passionately involved in environmentalism, portrayed throughout his work. In the 1990’s, with the support of the Rockefeller Foundation he started researching environmental subjects, traveling in the wild areas of Brazil and living with the Katukinos and Kalapalos natives. His most recent animated short is Love Will Rescue You (2015), a film about child trafficking. Since August 2015 Céu is working in New York City. Among collectors that bought his art is the British musician Sting and the Canadian philanthropist Jeffrey Bronfman, besides many other American and Germans private collectors.

Prices: The art by Céu D’Ellia have been steadily increasing in value and these figures are only approximate.
