Romero de Andrade Lima
Born in 1957 in Olinda in the state of Pernambuco. Inspired by the writer Ariano Suassuna, he started to draw, paint and sculpt very early in his life.
read more Since 1988 he also develops a career in theater. By connecting visual and performing arts he participated twice in the Art Bienal of São Paulo. A fertile and creative artist with a knowledge that favors the frequent incursion by themes of mythology, history, art history and literature, Romero has one of the most refined styles of the current Brazilian figurative painting. Excellent colorist and agile designer, his work recaptures past events, sometimes with characters quotes or details that identify works of great painting icons such as Franz Post, Master Ataide, Velazquez, and Toulouse-Lautrec. It is an anthropophagic artist and belongs to the Armorial Movement, proposing the tropical recapture of medieval Iberian culture and Renaissance, duly redrafted.
